Band History

The band was formed in 2009 for the Construction Rocks event. Re-formed for the same event in 2010 with an addtional singer. The same band members will get together for the 2011 event.

Band Members

Paul Donovan - Vocals
Paul’s first experience on a stage was last year’s 2009 event. As he recalls “it was poignant that we did Brown Sugar as our first song, as I was so nervous we should have sung Brown Trousers”.

Steve Harvey - Drums
Steve ‘Sticks’ Harvey is so much of a professional drummer that when one of 2009's drummers didn’t show up for the warm up before, Steve stood in and proved to be a real trooper. We think he may have like them more than us.

Ian McIntosh - Rhythm Guitar
Ian runs the show. From organisation, to equipment, to letting the band know 2 weeks before the event in 2009 and giving us 2 rehearsals. We’re hoping for at least 3 rehearsals this year.

Rupert Anderson - Lead Guitar
Rupert is a relative newcomer to the band, having only joined RJ in the last month before the 2010 Battle. When asked if he played the guitar he replied “a few bands, yeah”. We took that to mean he’s a lot better than us.

Chris Brecht – Bass Guitar
Chris Baseman Brecht is the epitome of cool and calm. He doesn’t say much but when he does, it means more than most. Chris said 7 words in 2009, and 5 of them were ‘airport’.

Annie McIntosh – Vocals
Annie is the youngest of the Profits, and is the only one who has had any formal training. This means we can blame her when anything goes wrong. Even if the band bus breaks down.
