The BAP Band (Bickerdike Allen Partners)

Band History

Many acousticians are secretly frustrated rock stars, and so it’s no surprise that the acoustics department of Bickerdike Allen Partners has had a band for many years, and although the line up may have changed as employees have come and gone, the band has always survived to rock another day.

The BAP Band has taken part in Construction Rocks since the inaugural event in 2008, and are confident that this might possibly be the year that they win, maybe. The band only perform a few times a year to maintain their mystique, with their other big gigs being their version of Glastonbury (aka the Cricklewood Residents Summer Fayre) and at their work Christmas party as a thank you to their colleagues for coping with the egos and tantrums.

Band Members

John Miller - Guitar/Bass
Founding member and leader of the band, John can tear it up with his guitar solos, or provide some funky rhythms with his bass. What he lacks in stature he more than makes up with his musical stylings.
Musical Influence - Katie Price. I think it’s a tragedy for us all that her musical career was so short lived

Roger Kelly - Vocals
If endless enthusiasm and energy count as talent then look out Simon Cowell because this man has buckets of it and he’s not a half bad singer which is why he’s been adopted by BAP to belt out the tunes.
Musical Influence - Yoko Ono

Peter Henson - Keyboards
The mad scientist of the band in many respects, Peter can take you on a musical odyssey that would bring tears to the eyes of Rik Wakeman. Unfortunately the time limit of 12 minutes means that you will only witness his warm up.
Musical Influence - Chas or Dave, whichever one played the piano

Ed Weston - Bass/Keyboards
As the band member who plays the most instruments Ed is either hugely talented, or a prime example of the phrase ‘jack of all trades, master of none’. We’ll leave it to the audience to decide.
Musical Influence - Timmy Mallett

Paul Wiseman - Drums
Balding drumming maestro Paul ‘Stix’ Wiseman is not the youngest member of the band and has the remaining grey hair to prove it. His sense of rhythm is famed for its resemblance to a Catholic family with 20 children.
Musical Influence - Corporal Jones of Dad’s Army

Laura Jellico - Saxophone
Laura likes to play freestyle jazz, at least that’s her way of explaining all the wrong notes. Her ambition was always to play sax solo in ‘A Million Love Songs’ on stage with Take That, but the restraining order taken out by the band has ruined that dream.
Musical Influence - Bill Clinton - an underrated saxophonist

Matt White - Saxophone
Artificially manufactured in the bottom of a cider barrel, this unidentified creature from the dark corners of the West Country has been travelling the land in search of something to blow on.
Musical Influence - The Wurzels - they’re gurt lush

Arthur Lewis-Nunes - Trumpet
After travelling to the furthest corners of the globe Arthur realised that the thrill of lugging a rucksack along dusty Chinese roads couldn’t replace being in the bosom of the BAP family so he returned to join us in making sweet music, or music at any rate.
Musical Influence - The Lurpak Butter trombone player
